Scavenging Patas Monkey

We threw stones at the big male baboon, but he didn't care and dashed up the tree in the middle of our camp. There he sat, breaking off seed cases and feeding on the fruit. An occasional seed case pattered around us for the next hour, courtesy of the baboon - or an expression of his contempt.

A family of patas monkeys came along the escarpment, prettier and less aggressive than our unwelcome guest. One of them scavenged among the seed cases littering the ground, finding the occasional fruit that the baboon had missed.
