Ears are radiators. They can be used to intimidate, because they can make
you look so big, but they radiate heat from the blood circulating through
them, and help to cool you down - if you are an elephant.
The temperature is 42°C in the shade, there is the pool of beautifully
cool water, but there are humans over there. I'll flap my ears - so I look
big and might scare them away. Anyway, I cool down a bit.
It's so hot.
