Reluctant Bather

Six elephants were enjoying their bath, almost completely submerged in the water, looking like small black islands in the middle of the pool. However, one elephant stood on the edge of the pool, motionless apart from slowly swaying his trunk from side to side. He had appeared from among the trees, walked to the edge of the pool and then stopped.

He had stood there for at least ten minutes when an elephant detached itself from the group disporting themselves in the water and waded over. He coiled trunks together with the reluctant bather, said gently, "Come in, the water's lovely!" - and pulled him into the water.
