The overcast was more dense than usual as we walked back to camp. A group
of waterbuck watched us carefully in the gloom, but, as we came closer,
the hinds moved away. A solitary buck stayed to keep an eye on us for a
while, then cantered after the herd. When he caught them up, he indulged
in some antler-bashing horseplay with one of the other bucks, perhaps emphasizing
how bold he was in outfacing the predators.
